The Association of Smyrneans acquired its own headquarters in Athens at an apartment in 3 Karitsi street, in December 1963, thanks to generous financial contributions from its members and following a period of 27 years wandering in various places in the city.

In the following years the diversity of miscellaneous functions, that the Association had to undertake in always increasing numbers as well as the incoming number of material including volumes of books and periodicals that kept enriching the Library soon showed, that there was not enough space for all this in one place. This prompted the urgent need to reorganize the central offices and at that moment and in the year 1996 Ekaterini Anastasiadi, born Stathi, the widow of Professor Michail Anastasiadis offered their apartment in No 71 Skoufa street and Massalias, following the wish of her deceased husband, to the Association of Smyrneans, on the condition that the seat of the Association will move there. Following her death and according to her will, this apartment is now the property of the Association, and carries the name . It houses the Offices of the Association, the seat of the President, the historical and photographic archives and the place where the Board holds its meetings. The Library is still housed in the Karitsi street apartment and it is there, that all other functions (Lectures, Presentations of new books etc) now take place.
