A letter from the Smyrneans Association to all the participants of the Petition for the creation of the Museum.

Athens, July 29, 2010

Dear friends,

We would like to thank you for your active support for the creation of the Museum of Hellenism in Asia Minor and the Orient in the area on Avenue Alexandra in Athens.

Many concerned citizens like you, as well as organizations from Greece and around the world have already endorsed our proposal. Your support strengthens us in our daily efforts to establish a museum of the Hellenism of Asia Minor and the East, as this has been requested by the people since 1958.

We hope that the Greek government will grant us from buildings on Avenue Alexandra in Athens for the establishment of a museum that will display all the long history and culture, from ancient times until today to highlight all aspects of intellect and materials of the Greeks of the East, their relations, and their interactions with other people, but also to finally recognize the genocide of the people and their establishment in a new homeland.

Our goal is that the museum will also become the living link between history and contemporary society and will give all the information on Hellenism in the East in an organized, readable and attractive manner.

We will continue our effort to inform the public and relevant services on our proposal and we intend to strengthen our position with as many signatures as possible.

We would also very kindly to ask you to inform your friends and acquaintances about it and persuade them to rally together with you and with us in the struggle for establishing a single and unique museum of the Greeks from Asia Minor, Pontos, Constantinople, Thrace and other nations as the Greeks of the East.

For what new developments we have on this issue we will keep you informed.

Chères amies / Chers amis,

On vous remercie beaucoup de votre soutien actif sur le sujet de la création du Musée de l’Hellénisme en Asie Mineure et de l'Orient dans les immeubles de réfugiés de l'avenue Alexandras.

Plusieurs citoyens concernés comme vous, et des acteurs de la Grèce et du monde entier ont déjà adopté notre proposition. Votre soutien renforce notre lutte quotidienne pour réussir la fondation d'un grand musée de l’Hellénisme dans tout l'Orient, ce qui est demandé par le monde de l'Asie Mineure depuis 1958.

Nous voudrions qu’ il soit octroyé par l’ Etat l'espace des blocs de réfugiés sur l' Avenue Alexandras à Athènes pour qu’ on puisse créer a la capitale de l'Etat, un musée où sera exposé l’ ensemble de la Civilisation et de la Culture d’ une longue histoire, depuis les temps anciens jusqu' aujourd’hui 'hui et ils seront mis en lumière, tous les domaines d’ action (intellectuel et matériels) des Grecs de l'Orient, comme aussi les relations et les interactions avec d' autres personnes, et le génocide et le saga moderne de l’ installation dans un autre pays.

Notre objectif est que ce musée compose le lien vivant de l’histoire avec les actions de la société moderne, et qu’il donne toutes les informations sur l’Hellénisme en Orient, d’une façon organisée, lisible et attractive.

Nous continuons nos efforts pour informer l’opinion publique et tous les compétents sur notre proposition et nous avons l’intention de renforcer notre position en assurant plus de signatures.

Nous vous prions de parler de notre lutte a plus d'amis et de personnes connues pour les persuader de se rassembler avec vous et avec nous et de devenir allies a notre lutte pour la fondation d'un seul musée des Grecs en Asie Mineure, Pontos, Constantinople, Thrace et a d'autres pays des Grecs de l'Anatolie. Pour chaque évolution sur le sujet, on vous tiendra au courant.
