On Saturday April, 24 2010 at the “Philippos Nakas” Concert Hall in Athens, a piano recital was held by the Soloist Dimitri Chryssanthakopoulos.  Dimitri is one of the youngest members of the Smyrnean’s Association, third generation “Mikrassiatis” from his mother’s side. He is one of the most brilliant and promising talents on the piano.

The program included music from G. F. Handel (Suite in G minor), S. Heller (21 Variations on a theme of Beethoven, project 133), G. Martucci the amazing «Fantasia di Concerto: La Forca del Destino», fantasy for piano from the opera by G. Verdi, “The Force of Destiny”, A. Sciabrin (4 Impromptus) and he ended his program with «La Valse» by M. Ravel.

Force and Sensitivity characterize the artist’s skills.

Dimitri Chrysanthakopoulos has been born in Patras in 1982, where he began his piano lessons at the age of seven. After he got his Diploma in Piano continued his studies with his teacher, soloist Agathe Leimoni and in "Scola Cantorum" in Paris where he graduated in 2009.

In 2008 he won the First Prize at the National Piano Competition in Athens. During summer 2008 he participated in the "3rd San Daniele Piano Meeting" in Italy earning the special distinction "virtuossismo pianistico" for his skill.

In recent years he is giving concerts in Greece and abroad more often making his international debut in the capital of Slovenia - Ljubliana in 2008. In 2009 he has been participated in four concerts in Greece (Athens, Mykonos, Poros and Rafina) and he was invited to the opening ceremony of the 44th Thessaloniki, “Demetria”. Later during 2010 he will play in Hungary, in the “museum – house” of Franz List in Budapest.

Over the last seven years he is also teaching at the Conservatory “Opera” in Athens and deals systematically with the so-called "forgotten" repertoire of piano literature including lesser known works in his programs. He also has been graduated from the Athens University of Economics.
